If you’ve landed on this page there’s a very good chance you’re currently with a local SEO agency in Melbourne and you’re not happy about it. I know that because I’ve been having the same conversation with almost everyone I talk to for the last 15 years.
The story goes something like this:
1 – A local SEO agency comes along with a smooth sales pitch, and some case studies with impressive sounding numbers (little do you know that in most cases these contain manipulative statistics – eg taking a new website from 10 visitors per month to 30 visitors per month and calling it “300% growth!”).
2 – The agency may even have an exciting “guarantee,” for example ranking a certain percentage of the keyword list to Page 1 – but then the keyword list is constructed with a large percentage of zero-volume, easily winnable keywords to make the “guarantee” easy to hit without ever producing a real meaningful business outcome.
3 – You deal with an account executive who talks a good game at first, but is not a technical SEO expert. They know enough to get the sale, but not much more, and you’re unable to get any real insight or answers to questions when a gap appears between expectation and reality. They will brag about their team size, but team size is irrelevant if you don’t have a strategic brain anywhere near your account.
